Dr. Yukiko Minami

   Greetings to everyone. My name is Yukiko Minami and in May 2023, I had the pleasure of opening my clinic, “MY Dental Office Kojimachi” in Chiyoda-ku Kojimachi, a neighborhood known for its historical background.

   As a young child, I grew up watching my mother, who is also a dentist, work diligently to put a smile on all her patients. At a time when there were few female dentists, my mother valued “communicating” with her patients and provided dental care believing that “Every patient is different when it comes to their lifestyle and background, and their priorities for the type of treatment they choose will also be different. Therefore, communication becomes a key factor in providing the best care possible for each patient.”

My mother has continued to run her clinic since it opened in 1984, and I am determined to carry on the principles and knowledge she has instilled in me. Through “communication,” I will strive to provide care that will bring out a “healthy and beautiful smile” from all my patients.

Having studied in the United States from 2005 to 2010, the vast experiences that I gained there have become the foundation of my dental care. Therefore, one of my goals is to provide a stress-free environment for foreigners who are living in Japan so they can receive dental care in English. In 2021, I was selected as one of the Official Chief Dentists for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and was fortunate to have had the opportunity to care for athletes from around the world.

In addition to providing general dental care in a comfortable environment in both Japanese and English, we also provide specialized care in dental implant and orthodontics with the highest level of diagnostic and medical skills during each treatment. Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices such as a 3D simulation imaging system (CT). Each of the dental chairs will have dedicated oral cameras, and a built-in wide screen LCD monitor to display oral conditions to help the patient visualize their treatment procedures as it is being explained.

We will ensure proper hygiene and provide a safe environment for every patient with the Class B autoclave, a world-renowned sterilizer for its highest standards for the sterilization of tools, and will use disposable paper trays, gloves, aprons, cups during each treatment.

Dr. Teruaki Homma

   Dr. Teruaki Homma earned his DDS degree and post-graduate residency from the Nippon Dental University. Dr. Homma worked in private practice for a few years before enrolling in the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Comprehensive Dentistry at New York University. He also completed the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Implant Dentistry and served as a Clinical Fellow in Implant Dentistry. Dr. Homma is currently the Vice President of Shinmatsudo General Dental Clinic and President of Chihara Dental Clinic, the Director of ADIA, Japan and the Future Implantologists Study Team (FIST).
